Today I went to the hospital to get my scan results. Considering how much pain I’ve been having I really expected progression, change of treatment, or maybe even worse. My oncologist called my name with a smile on her face. Oh my god she’s smiling.” You’re smiling”, I said.”Hi how are you, happy christmas”, she said, still smiling. I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am to have the amazing Dr Miriam O’Connor fighting my corner. She fought for 3 months to get me my current drug which I didn’t qualify for and that wasn’t yet available in Ireland. It has prolonged my life by at least a year, no mean feat with a stage IV patient. This woman gives a shit, she listens, hears, understands, respects and cares for her patients. She doesn’t mince her words, she has a sense of humour and she is advocating strongly for recognition for women with metastatic breast cancer.
The scan was good, there is no progression. The pain is nerve related and once we can get that under control there is no need to change treatment for chemo. This evening I went to a carol service with my lovely friend Elaine and listened to Oh Night Divine with tears of relief and gratitude running down my face. This day 5 years ago I had my triple assessment for breast cancer. Happy Christmas.

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what
all is needed to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I’m not very internet savvy so I’m not 100% positive. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Appreciate it
Hi would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re
working with? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different web browsers
and I must say this blog loads a lot quicker then most.
Can you recommend a good hosting provider at a reasonable price?
Kudos, I appreciate it!
My partner and I stumbled over here different web page and thought I may as well check
things out. I like what I see so i am just following you.
Look forward to going over your web page repeatedly.
